Barney arrived as dog number "50102". A beagle/bassett mix with a stitches on his neck, he thrived in foster care. He loved the other dogs in the house, and he made special friends with a dog named Jessie. They would play and wrestle in the yard, and thanks to Barney, Jessie even lost a few needed pounds during Barney's stay. During the NJ Pets Grand Opening adoption event on May 17, 2003, Barney found his home. He now lives happily in a nice home with a family in Passaic, NJ where he receives plenty of love and food. In fact, now it's Barney's turn to lose some weight! We happily visited Barney 6 months later in his new home, and we were greeted with a tail wag and plenty of love. It was a true pleasure to see this special dog again, and he said "Goodbye, See you Later" with his deep beagle how when we left. My heart was warm and fuzzy that day. I didn't realize how much I loved this foster dog, and it was a treat to see him happily in his home. Fostering is definitely a special experience!
